Now that summer is coming to a close and fall is just around the corner, I thought I would share my summer reading list with you all. What did you read this summer – share it in the comments below.
Imagine Heaven by John Burke
John is a Pastor who decided to take on the issue of explaining the unexplainable. He studied the scriptures and then interviewed dozens of people with near death experiences and found some startling similarities and insights. This is a very Biblical and encouraging book for those of us who need hope in the knowledge of the hereafter. [ Amazon ]
The Rabbi’s Heartbeat by Brennan Manning
The late Brennan Manning saved some of his best stuff for last. No one writes about grace with more passion and compassion than he does. With each chapter, you will feel closer to Jesus than you did before. An easy read, but a lasting impact. [ Amazon ]
Be Mean about the Vision by Shawn Lovejoy
A unique title for a straightforward book. This book really tackles the idea of mission drift that all of us face when it comes to ministry, business, and even life. When our God-given vision begins to shift, even just 1%, we run the risk of missing out on what God has called us to do. [ Amazon ]
Managing Corporate Lifecycles by Ichak Adizes
A fantastic and revealing study of how an organization grows and the detours it can face along the way. For anyone running or managing any type of business or organization, this is a must. I wish I would have read it years ago. [ Amazon ]
Living the Life you were Meant to Live by Tom Paterson
Years ago Tom was a business partner of management genius Peter Drucker. Tom took all he learned about growing a business and put it into practice with growing his life. Tom found that these basic business principles helped him execute Biblical principles and his God-given purpose. His work is where we get the term “Life Plan” from, and in this book, you can build your own. [ Amazon ]
