Odds are you have a to-do list for today.
Pick up the kids, drop off the dry cleaning, prep for dinner, deal with homework and music lessons. Oh, and go to work.
Odds are you have a to-do list FOR God as well.
Not what you want him to do, but we all have that. But something in your mind that you feel you need to do for God. Fix someone in your life, change their hearts towards God, start a non-profit, free the enslaved, educate the illiterate, feed the hungry. The list is endless.
If there was anyone who felt a ticking clock to do all that God wanted from him, it was Jesus. He had 3 years to save the world. And yet he was incredibly focused and never in a hurry.
Look what he says to a group of leaders one day:
“So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”
John 5:19 (NLT)
I only do what the Father is doing. And I can only do what the Father empowers me to do.
If Jesus was able to limit what he tried to do… I think we can too.
And if Jesus wasn’t able to do anything without the Father’s involvement… I think we can’t either.
What do you need to STOP doing today?
What do you need to START doing today?
WOW! This is a good one. Simple Truth.
Worrying about thing I have no control over, focus on thing I do have control of.
Focus on others that need help, and be blessed for what I have and what I can do within reason to help others.
I need to stop worrying and keep reading my bible. I used to drive around giving water to the homeless and I let fear stop me. I have started doing it again. Father give me strength, peace and calm in these unsettling times. In Jesus name.
