On this episode of the Rusty George Podcast, Rusty sits down with Brian “Head” Welch the co-founder and lead guitarist of the Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum metal band KoRn to talk about the mercy of God in his life.
In 2005 Brian had a life-changing spiritual awakening that freed him from a life of drugs and alcohol which prompted him to leave his band KoRn. Following the departure from KoRn, Brian went through a decade-long trial of parenthood, a solo career and betrayal of a trusted friend to come out the other side drug-free, with an amazing relationship with his daughter and back in the band KoRn.
Great interview and amazing story of God’s incredible grace and mercy in Truth and Love! Makes me think of Craig Gross sharing Christ in the p-rn world. Praying for Brian’s walk and influence for Christ’s Kingdom and glory!
What an incredible testimony of God restoring his relationship with his daughter and her walk with The Lord!
Great reflection of Christ’s love at that church in Bakersfield! Has he shared at Real Life?
Best line, “Will we walk away from Him when things go wrong?”
Have to say though that 70s music tops the charts (some bled over into the 80s)…Journey; Kansas; Boston; Lynyrd Skynyrd; Led Zeppelin; The Who; Fleetwood Mac; CCR; Rush; Doobie Brothers; Bee Gees; Van Halen; Commodores; Jackson 5; ELO; Genesis; CS&N; Styx: Aerosmith; Kiss; ZZ Top; Queen; Pink Floyd; Cars; REO Speedwagon; Steve Miller Band; Earth, Wind and Fire; Isley Brothers; Confunkshun; Imperials (oh, that was Gospel/CCM)…I should stop!
